Orlando, Fla. (July 28, 2020) – Foundry Commercial, a full-service real estate services and investment firm with offices throughout the southeast, Texas, and California, is proud to announce Melissa Alexander, Vice President, and Meredith Ball, Partner, have been named among the 2020 Class of the GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum Women of Influence. The distinction spotlights the achievements of women in commercial real estate. The Women of Influence program was launched to acknowledge and bring increased awareness to the accomplishments and efforts of women in commercial real estate.
“On behalf of Foundry Commercial we are extremely proud of Meredith and Melissa. They are both recognized leaders in their markets and within Foundry – Meredith as a partner in our firm and one of the top producers in the Charlotte market and Mellissa as an innovator in CRE social media and one of the few women leaders in industrial in the Southeast. We truly look forward to seeing them continue to grow and influence our industry,” said Paul Ellis, CEO.
Melissa Alexander works on the Industrial Services team in Foundry’s Nashville office. With more than 14 years of real estate experience, her primary role at Foundry is to assist users both small and large with the leasing and purchasing of industrial real estate. During her career, she has been involved in transactions across 20+ states as well as globally. Melissa started her career in the commercial real estate industry as a marketing professional in 2006. As she continued to play a more critical role in business development on both the agency leasing and tenant rep sides, Melissa worked her way to eventually become a broker working in industrial tenant rep. A thought leader in the industry, Melissa and another colleague, Casey Flannery, created an online Twitter chat called #CREchat. The monthly chat hosts CRE influencers from across the U.S. and has garnered participation and praise from CRE professionals, organizations such as CREW and SIOR, as well as prominent news outlets as two women bringing change and innovation to the industry.
Meredith Ball serves as a senior member of the Office Agency Leasing team in Foundry’s Charlotte office. With more than 16 years of real estate experience, she handles a portfolio of over 2 million square feet for clients including Cousins Properties, Portman Holdings, New York Life, and ICM Group. Additionally, Meredith advises clients on investment opportunities, assists with underwriting deals and assets, and manages tenant relations. While her day-to-day work is transaction-oriented, her role within Foundry is heavily weighted towards being the consultant to her institutional investor clients. In addition to these roles, she also spends time managing and mentoring junior members of the team. Over the past year, Meredith has been named the ‘Top Office Broker’ (based on transaction volume) by the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors (CRCBR). She was also the number two producer in the entirety of Foundry Commercial (a 350+ person company) for 2019.
An INFLUENCER Awards Dinner to recognize the 2020 Women of Influence honorees was slated to be held in Utah in late July; however, due to continued uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus, the event was cancelled. The July/August issue of GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum features interviews with this year’s honorees.
