Scotty DeMyer, Grace Thompson Join Brokerage to Build Out Office Agency Team in Recently Expanded Atlanta Office
Atlanta, Ga. (July 6, 2023) – Just last month, Foundry Commercial announced it had acquired boutique Atlanta brokerage Southsource, founded in 2020 and respected for its creative approach to the evolving office segment. Today, Scotty DeMyer and Grace Thompson also join the growing Atlanta office, teaming up with John Neal Scott to further build out the firm’s office agency team.
Lawrence “LG” Gellerstedt, Market Leader for Foundry in Atlanta, said: “When Grace and Scotty joined us, our team’s collective experience increased by 30+ years and diversified into almost every submarket and building class. They’ve each earned invaluable knowledge from their past leasing success, in-house and out. Combined with our existing team’s creativity, expertise in asset management and marketing, as well as the Foundry Commercial platform, we’re creating a well-rounded and truly expert leasing team that I’m proud to work alongside.”
DeMyer, a 20+ year commercial real estate industry veteran, has spent the majority of his career in the Atlanta area, most recently leading asset management and leasing efforts for office assets across the Southeast with CIM Group, a private equity firm based in California. He has served in brokerage roles with Colliers, CBRE, and JLL since starting his career. As Senior Vice President, he looks forward to utilizing this national, institutional experience to creatively lease space and add value for clients.
“I’ve known and respected both Foundry and Southsource over the past few years that I’ve covered the southeast for CIM Group, and I feel fortunate I’m able to work with the combined group of professionals. I’m excited to return to my roots in servicing commercial real estate clients and utilize all the new tools in my belt as I collaborate with owners to maximize buildings’ values and enhance buildings’ purpose for tenants,” DeMyer shared.
Thompson, who joins Foundry as Vice President, spent the last 10 years in an in-house leasing role with Atlanta Property Group. At Foundry, Thompson expands her focus to include growing the office agency function in Atlanta alongside DeMyer and Scott. Her decades-long experience in understanding the inner workings of Atlanta’s many submarkets and the amenities and locations that are attracting employees to return to the office make her particularly well-suited to contribute to the recently expanded Atlanta team.
DeMyer is a graduate of the University of Louisville and is involved with organizations such as Central Atlanta Progress, CoreNet Atlanta and its Community Cares Committee and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Thompson graduated from the University of Alabama. She is actively involved in the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors as well as Buckhead Church.
