Charlotte, NC (September 25, 2024) – The Line, a 16-story office and retail tower fronting the Rail Trail in Charlotte’s South End, is now 84 percent leased, following the announcement that Greystar has signed a lease for 7,500 square feet on the building’s 11th floor. Greystar, a global leader in rental housing property management, development, and investment, will be relocating from its current office in Midtown to The Line next spring.
With Greystar’s addition, only a limited amount of space remains available in the sought-after property, solidifying The Line as a key player in Charlotte’s South End office market. The lease was brokered by Foundry Commercial’s Claiborne Mulhern and Meredith Ball on behalf of the building’s owner. Greystar was represented by JLL’s Ross Howard and Brent Miller in the transaction.
“We’re excited to welcome Greystar to The Line, where they will join a diverse and dynamic tenant mix,” said Claiborne Mulhern, Senior Associate at Foundry Commercial. “This recent leasing success is a testament to The Line’s prime location and vibrant retail amenities, which continue to attract top-tier businesses. Greystar’s presence will further enhance the collaborative environment.”
According to a statement from Greystar’s Charlotte Leadership, The Line offers a modern and well-connected environment that aligns with the company’s evolving workplace needs. Its location in Charlotte’s vibrant South End provides the team with access to exceptional amenities and a thriving business community, making it an ideal space for Greystar’s continued growth.
The Line, completed in early 2022 and owned by CBRE Investment Management and Portman Holdings through a joint venture, features 290,000 square feet of Class-A office space, a first-of-its-kind sky lobby with an outdoor terrace, and over 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Tenants enjoy private balconies, expansive city views, and access to popular retail establishments like Sycamore Brewing and Savi Provisions.
Greystar joins an impressive roster of tenants at The Line, including TTX, Northeastern University, Society Awards, STV, Experis, SignatureFD, and Foundry Commercial. Located at 2151 Hawkins Street, The Line continues to attract top-tier businesses, adding to the vibrancy of Charlotte’s South End.
